We kindly inform the Public that this is the revised user fees for Marine Parks and Reserves effective from 1st July 2009, as published in the Government Notice No.92 of 17th April 2009.

A: ENTRANCE FEE FOR EACH PERSON PER DAY IN THE MARINE PARKS

Tanzanians Non Tanzanians
1 For each person above the age of 16 years Tshs. 2,360.00 (VAT inclusive) US$ 23.60 (VAT inclusive)
2 Between the age of 5 years and 16 years Tshs. 1,180.00 (VAT inclusive) US$ 11.80 (VAT inclusive)
3 Children below the age of 5 years Free Free

B: ENTRANCE FEE FOR EACH PERSON PER DAY IN THE MARINE RESERVES

Tanzanians Non Tanzanians
1 For each person above the age of 16 years Tshs. 2,360.00 (VAT inclusive) US$ 11.80 (VAT inclusive)
2 Between the age of 5 years and 16 years Tshs. 1,180.00 (VAT inclusive) US$ 5.90 (VAT inclusive)
3 Children below the age of 5 years Free Free

C: BOAT AND SPORT FISHING LICENSING WITHIN MARINE PARKS ONLY

1 Boats powered by engines of 40hp or less (including mashuas) trading in marine resources US$ 50/month
2 Boats powered by engines of more than 4hp trading in Marine Resources US$ 100/month
3 Visiting leisure boat privately owned and non-commercial US$ 100 /entry / 5 days
4 Visiting commercial leisure boat including chattered US$ 200 /entry / 5 days
5 Game fishing boat US$ 200 /entry / 5 days
6 Cruise ship/tourist passenger boat US$ 1000 /entry / 5 days
7 Visitors staying at lodges and fishing in a boat owned by registered Business in the Marine Parks or visiting game fishing boats shall pay a fishing license of US$ 50 /entry / 5 days
8 Fishermen on game fishing boats each pay a fee of US$ 50 for period up to 5 days

D: LICENSED BOAT OPERATING WITHIN MARINE RESERVES ONLY:

1 Passenger boats with a carrying capacity of seven (7) passengers US$ 300 per month
2 Local registered leisure boat US$ 20 per month
3 Foreign registered leisure boat US$ 50 per entry

E: CONCESSION

1 Permission to operate public services (e.g. restaurants & night camping) in the Marine Reserves per month US$ 1,200/Month
2 Permission to operate public services (e.g. tourist hotel & night camping) in the Marine Park a concession fee is US$ 1,500/ month
3 Night camping fee in both Marine Parks and Marine Reserves is US$ 20/night

F: COMMERCIAL FILMING FEES

Image capture of any type, i.e. still photograph, motion picture photograph, still or conventional video imaging, for commercial purposes, in any Marine Park or Marine Reserve shall pay US$ 1,000 per period of up to seven (7) days.

G: REVENUE SHARING AMONG MPRs AND KEY STAKEHOLDERS

A portion of net revenue from user fee shall be shared among the MPRU, District Councils and Local Communities in the vicinity of Marine Protected Areas as per Marine Parks and Reserves Act. The distribution percentage shall be as follows

1 Marine Parks and Marine Reserves (MPRU) 70%
2 District Authorities 10%
3 Local Communities 20%
